Homeopathy has been around for a long time. The book states, "Homeopathic medicines are derived from natural substances and are given in very small, specially prepared doses to stimulate the body's ability to heal itself mentally, emotionally, and physically." This type of healing modality stands by the fact that less is more, that like heals like, and the body itself is a healing machine if it gets the right nudge.
So why haven't we heard more about Homeopathy here in the United States? Blame it on a war between Homeopathy and Conventional Medicine. It nearly led to a death of the popular and successful homeopathic industry in the early 1900's.
This guide is a nice, well laid out book that helps ease you into the world of Homeopathy. It teaches you to observe the body, learn dosage, what to expect as well as what to take, or combinations to use, as well.
Although it mentions over 70 specific conditions and how to treat it homeopathically, I was a bit disappointed that many pervasive conditions were not covered, especially the conditions causing pain. I'm thinking the author's were focused more on simpler ills. However it is a good start in the journey of learning about what Homeopathy is and how it works.
